It has begun.
Not even two full weeks after The Dark Knight arrived in theaters, we officially have our first Batman 3 rumor! (Speaking of, we have to decide what to call Nolan's next Batman movie. Dark Knight 2? Batman 3? NolanMan 3? Lets get on that ...) But anyway, the rumor actually comes from another Catwoman: Julie Newmar. Speaking to the New York Daily News, Newmar says, "Angelina would own the part. My industry friends tell me [she] has made inquiries about the role." She went on to add, "I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman's one true love. She's tremendously popular with women because she's both a heroine and a villainess. When you look at the staggering box office of this current film, which actress wouldn't want to jump in?"
So is Jolie really looking to play Catwoman in a third (and possible final) Batman film from Christopher Nolan? No doubt Bale and Jolie would look good together on screen, and the woman definitely knows how to hold her own when it comes to action. What do you think? Do you Bat-fans want Brad Pitt's gal in Gotham City?

I'm not gonna lie, but Halle kinda ruined Catwoman for me, and I like Halle Berry.
I would rather see a Talia al Ghul storyline to be honest. In fact I think Angelina would make a better Talia than Catwoman. Talia is more Batman's true love anyway. Catwoman was more or less a booty call. Plus, as there is probably only going to be three Batman's with Nolan's involvement a story with a Talia al Ghul would bring an appropriate symmetry to the arc.
Undoubtedly there would have to be a classic Batman villain that the general populace would recognize. I would like to see the Riddler, but not in the classical sense. I was thinking of some kind of a hacker reminiscent of the Laughing Man from Ghost in the Shell that likes to leave clues that only a person as smart as he could decipher. Much like how Ras played the Scarecrow, Talia could try play the Riddler. Except he's not as dumb as Crane and he flips the script on her.
Food for thought I guess.

i agree with everything you just said, John R. Talia and the Riddler should be the next villains, but i also think that they should just throw scarecrow into the mix because he never does anything. He can get his ass handed to him again, i don't care as long as hes in there. one thing id really like to see is talk of the joker scattered around the film, as if they hadn't forgotten or traces of him he might have left.

I don't see any problems with it. She's probally right now the best woman action star, and is a descent actress. She was alright in the wanted movie. And I can't think of any other person right now who would fit the part.

I don't know if I like the real word drama her fame and persona bring to the role but she's obviously a talented actress, so maybe. She's got the action cred and, with Nolan, it could be good to see her in a deep action role. However, it could also be seen as gimmick casting because of her current high profile. If Nolan goes that route, I'd trust him, but I think there are better choices.

I agree with John R...I think the Talia al Ghul story line could be an interesting and more in-line/appropriate choice for Nolan's Gotham. There would need to be a secondary villain as well though because going from a badass villain the Ledger Created with the joker could only be topped by...uhhh....not sure what could top it actually.
Nolan will be hard pressed to top TDK but do I think he should give it a try....absolutely!!!
Forget about box office numbers etc. - just bring us another complex and gritty batman and we'll show up.

No, for the simple reason that Catwoman has super-powers, and I don't see that jiving with the "real" world Nolan has created. I do not, however, have anything against Angelina.

Catwoman doesn't have superpowers in any media except for her movie incarnations. Every other version of the character is just a woman who's a skilled thief/acrobat/fighter.

Discussions on IF Catwoman should be in the 3rd movie aside - yes, Angelina would LOOK great as Catwoman, but I don't think she'd BE great. The problem with Ms. Jolie is that in just about any role she plays, you see Angelina Jolie, not the character she's playing, regardless of how well she plays it.
You saw a psychotic madman, not Heath Ledger. You see a bad-ass, gravelly-voice Batman, not Christian Bale (although the same can't necessarily be said for Bruce Wayne). No... if there's going to be Catwoman (and she doesn't necessarily need superpowers, she can just be a very talented burgler and seductress with some toys and tricks), she should be someone who doesn't hide the character with their own real-life persona.
Why not Aishwarya Rai (she could do Talia Al Ghul too)? A huge global star, but still virtually unknown to Western audiences, and she looks the part just as much as Angelina.

Mmmm....don't know about Mrs. Pitt....
But IF they want to do a third one, a Catwoman story could work (I think the story was pretty much closed with the last one, please don't ruin it)
TDK had a chaos vs order theme to it...so this one could be love vs duty? A more personal story regarding the isolation of Bruce Wayne told through a love-story narrative with an "enemy"? They would need to make her more large-scale of a burglar though...a burglar turned spy maybe?
The Riddler as a hacker is not a bad idea at all, but he would just serve as a chaos agent...and we all know how that was covered

Only if Christopher Nolan wants her.
Hell, if he wanted Brad Pitt as Catwoman I'll go along for the ride. The man knows what he's doing.

I don't think Jolie belongs in this franchise. She's like adding George Clooney. It's been great with respectable actors and hasn't needed the big name cache and all that tabloid hoopla to go along with it to sell tickets. If they MUST bring in Catwoman they should get creative or think more along the lines of "talent," and a surprising casting choice like Heath was. Jolie is so obvious in all her Barbie curves and cat-eyes and flies in the face of inspired casting choices Nolan has made thus far with this renewed franchise.
Someone like Naomi Watts would be cool.

I agree with a Naomi Watts to play Catwoman. I personally think Catwoman will be in the next film even if she is the minor villain/distraction for Batman/Wayne.
I personally think an even better choice for Catwoman would be Charlize Theron over Jolie. Theron might be a tad tall for Bale's Batman but Theron is plain sexy, hot, and can act.

tilda, great actress, but i don't see her as catwoman, and prob too old, also, thandie is too old, isn't she older than halle berry? i don't think shannyn sossamon is a good enough actress, and charlize is good, maybe too tall, but probably the best out of the bunch, although selma blair might be right!
